Marilyn Ross, Enrolled Agent
As an Enrolled Agent, Marilyn specializes in individual, partnership, corporate and non-profit tax preparation. Her career began as a bookkeeper for a trucking firm in Manteca, CA where accounting functions were learned on the job, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, and preparation of payroll, sales and fuel tax returns. In 1991, Marilyn joined a Modesto accounting firm as their internal bookkeeper, in addition to servicing one of their largest national clients. In 1995, she sat for the Special Enrollment Exam administered by the IRS, earning her designation as an Enrolled Agent and allowing her to practice tax before the IRS. This experience encouraged her to go back to school to obtain her degree. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2006 from California State University, Stanislaus, with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, concentration in Accounting. Remembering how much she enjoyed school, she completed her Masters of Business Administration from Southern Oregon University in 2009.
Marilyn is a Siskiyou County native, graduating from Mt. Shasta schools as a classmate of Dorian Aiello and Kathy Freeman. She lived in central California until her husband, Michael, retired from teaching in 2006. They moved to Medford, where Marilyn was privileged to work for La Clinica Del Valle Family Heathcare Center, expanding her knowledge of medical, dental and mental health services in a non-profit environment. As a medical billing liaison, she was instrumental in writing and the revision of the financial policies for the Center.
Moving back in April 2014, she is pleased to be home in Mt. Shasta once again. Marilyn has two children, Mason and Melanie, and one grandson, Nathan. She loves to read and quilt in her spare time.
